Alexis RicoeurDr Alexis Ricoeur is a medical doctor specialized in radiology and especially in interventional radiology. He is the head of the Abdominal and International Radiology unit at the Geneva University Hospitals since October 2021. He is also affiliated to the Image Guided Interventions Laboratory (GR-949), Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland. His work focuses mainly on endovascular procedures and interventional oncology, particularly applied to hepato-pancreato-biliary system in adults as well as in children.  

His Thesis in Medicine titled Image-guided percutaneous techniques in the treatment of aggressive vertebral haemangioma: clinical outcomes and therapeutic strategy and his Specialized diploma (D.E.S) in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology were achieved at the University of Medicine of Strasbourg in France in 2017. He holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR). 

Before joining the Radiology Division at the Geneva University Hospitals, Alexis worked as a specialized fellow then an attending physician in Interventional Radiology within the Diagnostic and Interventional radiology Department at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Lyon (Centre Léon Bérard) in France. Meantime he was affiliated to the Laboratory of Therapeutic Applications of Ultrasound (LabTAU), INSERM U1032, Centre Léon Bérard, Université Lyon 1. Before that, Dr. Ricoeur did a 6-month clinical and research fellowship in 2016/2017 at the King’s College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, UK where he worked on MRgHIFU in the palliative treatment of bone metastases (project leader : Pr Afshin Gangi).  

Alexis Ricoeur is member of several medical societies such as the Cardiovacular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE), the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the French Society of Radiology (SFR) and the French Society of Cardiac and Vascular Imaging (SFICV).
