The evaluation of patient satisfaction is a recognized indicator of the quality of care and services provided by a hospital.

Since 2001, the HUG has conducted a survey of approximately 3,000 patients who have been hospitalized for more than 24 hours. They answer a questionnaire containing 44 questions. The response rate is over 50%. The data collected provides a valuable insight into what patients appreciate, and areas that require improvement.

How much does a day in hospital cost? 

All healthcare areas and patients included, a day in hospital costs an average of 1,360 Swiss francs. From 800 Swiss francs in rehabilitation to 7,000 Swiss francs in intensive care, the cost (*) per patient varies depending on the use of the technical facilities and the type of care.

New follow-up consultation

The transplant service provides pre-and post-transplant medical monitoring for over six hundred people who have benefitted from a liver, pancreas or islets of Langerhans transplant, combined or not with a renal graft. Until now, this outpatient care had been entirely provided by specialist doctors.
