The Vaccine Tested at HUG Proven Effective in Guinea

“World on the verge of an effective Ebola vaccine" is the title of the press release released on July 31 by the World Health Organization.

After a first phase of international clinical trials, also led in Geneva under the authority of Professor Claire-Anne Siegrist, Head of the Vaccinology Center at HUG, the VSV-EBOV vaccine has been tested in affected communities in Guinea. Results of the study were published on July 31 in The Lancet journal and show that this vaccine is highly effective.
