For over ten years, the month of November has been dedicated to male diseases such as prostate cancer. Prevention, detection, research: men's health is a central focus of the HUG Urology Division.
In this framework, it organizes two actions throughout "Movember":
Free consultations for male diseases.
This thirty minute consultation starts with a general history, taking weight and blood pressure. More specifically, a demarcation of cardiovascular risk factors.
Depending on the discussion and physical exam, additional tests (e.g. blood test or x-ray) may be recommended.
On a clinical level, a digital rectal examination (early detection of a possible assessment of prostate cancer) and testicular palpation.
The goal is to target four "fairly masculine" diseases: cardiovascular diseases, cancer and/or benign prostate hyperplasia and testicular tumors.
When? Every Wednesday afternoon in November from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Where? At the Urology Outpatient' Clinic, HUG.
To show your support for male diseases, and to show your friends, come and shave your mustache in the Gaetano style:
When? Every Monday morning in November from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Where? In the HUG lobby
Free and no appointment necessary
