Child and adolescent psychiatry deals with psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents up to 18 years of age, as well as family problems that arise from the problems these children and adolescents face.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division cares for patients between the ages of 0 and 18. It consists of 6 units, each of which has a specific clinical purpose:

La base Rega HUG a fêté en 2011 ses 40 ans de présence sur sol genevois et ses 10 ans de rattachement avec les HUG. Gros plan sur la prise en charge des nouveau-nés au sein de la Rega.

Au 29 avenue de la Roseraie à Genève,  la deuxième Maison de la Fondation Ronald McDonald offre « petit chez soi… loin de leur chez soi » aux familles d’enfants hospitalisés aux HUG.

Sécurité et bien-être de la femme et de l'enfant sont les maîtres-mots qui vont accompagner le déroulement de l'accouchement à la maternité des Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève

Lors d'un accouchement, la péridurale est une technique d’anesthésie qui vise à atténuer, voire abolir, les sensations douloureuses des contractions. Cette vidéo s’adresse aux femmes enceintes qui souhaitent s’informer sur cette technique et sa mise en place.

Mission of the Pediatric Specialties Division

Ensure the care of patients for the following specialties:

  • Pediatric Allergology
  • Pediatric Cardiology
  • Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Pediatric Nephrology and Metabolism
  • Pediatric Pulmonology
  • Pediatric Neurology
  • Exercise and Obesity Medicine

Patients can be admitted or treated as outpatients. In the latter case, patients may contact Consultations directly or can be referred by their attending physician.

Pediatric Orthopaedic and Traumatology Unit


Mission of the Pediatric Orthopaedic and Traumatology Unit

  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical care for congenital, acquired and trauma musculoskeletal disorders in children and adolescents on an elective basis and in emergencies.

  • Make the division’s experience available from care in the Maternity to long-term longitudinal follow-up of young adults who have after-effects from typical pediatric problems. Provide care for neuro-orthopedic pathologies in collaboration with the Willy Taillard Walking Laboratory.

  • Collaborate with the other HUG divisions in providing services, notably by assisting with pediatric and adult patient services requiring expertise found specifically in a Pediatric Orthopaedic and Traumatology Unit.

Patients can be admitted or treated as outpatients. In the latter case, consultations are arranged by the institutions with which cooperative agreements have been signed, as well as with the Clair-Bois facilities in Geneva.
