Located on the 7th and 8th floors of the laboratory building, a new spaced dedicated to training and research into surgery has been set up at HUG. This high-tech training centre is steered by the Swiss Foundation for Innovation and Training in Surgery (SFITS).

Its missions? Training professionals from Swiss and international surgical units and offering a multidisciplinary research and discussion platform.

Spanning a surface area of 2,000 m2, the SFITS has an ultra-modern infrastructure and stateof-the-art biomedical equipment. Seven million Swiss francs were invested to equip it.

This foundation offers quasi-real conditions and a safe environment for practising on anatomical or synthetic specimens or simulators. It plans to create a library of digital resources and host research projects looking to innovate in the surgical arena.
