Adopting the vert™ system
The radiation oncology service has put in place the VERT™ system to familiarise patients with the different steps in prostate radiotherapy (FR) treatment using a linear accelerator. This tool serves to create generic or personalized presentations using virtual and interactive elements with fixed images and even videos.
During their first consultation, the patient, who can be accompanied by a loved one, views the presentation. This information lasting 30 to 45 minutes helps them to gain a better understanding of the issues at stake regarding their treatment and improves their compliance with the treatment.
This system is set to be extended to other treatment locations. Its implementation is funded by the HUG Private Foundation.
