Antibody discovery

How can you destroy cancerous cells, block their migration and prevent the disease from developing? Researchers from HUG and the University of Geneva have discovered an innovative strategy.

Based on the body’s immune system, they have developed an antibody with the ability to attach itself to the JAM-C protein found on the surface of tumour cells. At the experimental stage, this molecule has demonstrated its effectiveness in limiting the proliferation of diseased cells and halving the number of them that pass into the lymphatic system.

This discovery lays the groundwork for a new therapeutic strategy to fight lymphoma and falls in line with research into cancer immunotherapy.
