Emergency services dedicated to the elderly

Designed to treat elderly people aged 75 and above in non-critical emergencies, the geriatric emergency department (FR) welcomed its first patients on 1 November 2016.

Located in the Trois-Chêne Hospital, it enjoys close proximity to technical facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including a CT scan and MRI. The doctors and healthcare staff who work there have been specially trained in emergency medicine, acute medicine and care for the elderly.

Open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., this geriatric emergency department is organized into two areas: one dedicated to assessing the state of health and primary care, and the other to observation for a maximum period of 24 hours.

Depending on the diagnosis, the patient may return home or be hospitalised in situ.
