The Geneva Platelet Group is a translational research group that aims to bring together multiple experts on the study of platelet function and antiplatelet medications. The group is coordinated by Prof. P. Fontana and Prof. J.-L Reny and works closely with the Group for Translational Research in Biomarkers directed by Prof. J.-C. Sanchez, the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Division directed by Prof. J. Desmeules, and the Clinical Epidemiology Division directed by Prof. T. Perneger.

The main research topic is the study of determinants of platelet reactivity in cardiovascular patients through -omic approaches (genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic). In addition, the clinical relevance of platelet reactivity for patient care strategies is also studied through pharmacological and epidemiological approaches.
