The Angiology and Hemostasis Division takes on several educational assignments.

Pre-graduate Training

Pre-graduate training is intended primarily for students in human medicine, but also other health-related professions (laboratory technicians, nurses, etc.) Senior physicians of the Angiology and Hemostasis Division are particularly involved in this training.

Regarding medical studies, courses taught by senior physicians in the division relate to the entire curriculum, including participation in the "hemorrhagic diseases and genetic disorders" integration week for 1st year students and tutorials for the "Heart and Circulation" unit. Senior physicians also teach vascular semiotics and the Introduction to Clinical Approach Unit (UIDC (FR)) as part of the Master of Medicine. All senior physicians are also examiners during the federal medical examinations.

Finally, the option is given to second year students to spend 9 half days at the research laboratory of the Geneva Platelet Group (FR) as part of an Elective Course dedicated to laboratory work.

Postgraduate Training

Postgraduate training is designed for future FMH specialists in angiology or Hematology (hemostasis). It is performed daily by supervising clinic consultations but also by clinical case presentations, multidisciplinary symposiums, literature reviews and journal clubs, and publishing scientific papers.

Continuing Education

Continuing education is aimed at all doctors in training but also doctors who are already holding an FMH (Swiss Medical Association) title (general internal medicine, angiology, hematology, etc.). It's carried out as weekly seminars in the Angiology and Hemostasis Division but also as joint seminars with the Angiology Division of CHUV (FOCOROMA: Continuing Education in Angiology for French-speaking Switzerland) or a partnership with some university hospitals in neighboring France (GEGREDI: Geneva, Grenoble, Dijon, Mâcon, etc.) or internationally.
