Basic training
The eHealth and Telemedicine Division takes part in the introductory course in medical IT and in critical research in medical information for medical students at bachelor's and master's level . Some of these courses are also given on eLearning platforms, using models developed in the Computer-for-Health project of the Virtuel Suisse [Swiss Virtual] Campus
Practical training courses are also offered, as are research placements for students writing their medical Master's dissertations. Since 2008, around 20 students have been involved in these research projects, which have looked at the feasibility and impact of eLearning and telemedicine tools in developing countries.
The RAFT network and the Altiplano project have also hosted students in the field as part of their community immersion internships.
Postgraduate training
The eHealth and Telemedicine Division offers a short training course (24 days spread over a year) to familiarize health professionals and IT professionals with the challenges of medical IT, eHealth and telemedicine. This Certificate of Advanced Studies in Medical IT corresponds to 13 ECTS credits.

More advanced training, full-time over two years, leads to an MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) in medical IT. This is aimed at doctors who wish to specialize in this area.
In addition, the Division arranges a monthly meeting for a wide range of researchers in the area, KIMlab, at which the work of the various research groups is presented, and there is a Journal Club.
